West Hill Survey

West Hill Survey

Client Brief

MHA were contacted by a previous client to undertake a survey of an external block of tenanted mansion apartments in West Hill, London. The report was to identify and prioritise required repairs to best utilise maintenance funds saved from the residents.

Key Issues

  • External fabric of Freeholders' Building deteriorating
  • Requirement for Independent report to identify priorities for repair
  • Follow up advice provided

What We Did

Due to the height of the property, a cherry picker was arranged to undertake detailed inspection of the roof and high level brickwork and stonework. The report identified a number of areas which required repair together with overdue cyclical maintenance.

The Freeholders' Association chose to undertake the specification and tendering in conjunction with their managing agents. Following erection of scaffold the contractor raised a number of technical queries suggesting greater work required than identified in the report.

The Association contacted MHA for advice and we provided on site presence to ensure that only required works were undertaken which we monitored through to completion and handover.

“Many Thanks for all your excellent help and professional help, you have been an immense help to Sam and myself ”
