Projects
Eastwick SNSC Extension & Refurbishment
Client Brief
As part of Surrey County Council’s push to improve provision at their Schools for children with Special Needs, they embarked on a programme of expansion and improvement of their existing Special Educational Needs (SEN) Units. Eastwick School approached MHA to undertake a feasibility study and won funding for an extensive overhaul of their facilities to provide a new Special Needs Support Centre (SNSC).
Key Issues
- Out-dated and ill equipped SEN equipment
- Works to be completed by September 2012
- Congested & tight shared school site
What We Did
MHA undertook a thorough investigation of the site and proposed the construction of a new classroom to free up further space adjacent to the new SNSC. This allowed for the provision of 2 full size classrooms, a group room, specialist WC and welfare facilities together with sensory and therapy rooms.
Completion of the scheme successfully took place ready for the September new intake.
